One of the Most Important aspects of IIMAF Kuksool Hapkido is the theory of:

"MIX MARTIAL ARTS”. This means "Complete Self-Defense”. The first part of IIMAF Kuksool Hapkido is 'Spiritual', which symbolizes the Creator, The Higher Being, The Universe, Nature, Logic, and kindness with the emphases on Meditation.
The second part of IIMAF Kuksool Hapkido is Mind over Matter (Intelligence or Mental Togetherness and Modern Science).
The third part of IIMAF Kuksool Hapkido is the Body or Physical well being. The importance of Personal Fitness through IIMAF Martial Arts training. That means one should always be active and ready to Defend Themselves Against Criminal Violence. The above represents the desire to achieve harmony between Spirit, Mind, and Body. The idea is to combine these three aspects and use them to Better the practitioner's Training and Life.
The redirecting of attacks in IIMAF Kuksool Hapkido are typically characterized by circular movements. In practice this is obtained through Constant Training.

IIMAF Kuksool Hapkido Includes the following sets of Martial Arts Techniques:

Joint Locking and Breaking Techniques: Various Joint Locks are employed in IIMAF Kuksool Hapkido, including Wrist Locks, Arm-Bars, and Large and Small Joint Manipulation.

Hand Striking Attacks:

Hand Strikes are performed in close distance confrontations and as an alternative to kicking. They are executed in a number of ways - from Standing, Jumping, Spinning and Rushing forward. Hand Strikes make up fast Combination of Strikes which can leave criminal attackers stunned and unable to fight back. Hand Strikes can be separated into two distinct styles: Closed Hand Strikes (Punches and Boxing) & Open Hand Techniques.

Various surfaces of the hand may be engaged as the Striking Surface depending on which area of the attacking criminal's body is being targeted. This leads to a large array of Hand Striking Positions.

IIMAF Fore Fist - A closed fist may be Jabbed out directly to Strike with the Four Fist Knuckles. This is a suitable position for general Punches to soft areas of the body. Without protection, it is inadvisable to strike the bony parts of the face, as fingers are likely to get broken if used against the criminals attackers bones, especially Jaw Bones.

IIMAF Four Knuckle Strike - This is a fist shape particular to the Imperial Martial Arts. Instead of closing the fist completely, the fingers are held out and only the knuckles are bent thereby presenting the upper set of knuckles as the striking surface. This Fist Strike is used for breaking boards as the smaller surface area concentrates the punches power. In Self-Defense, it may be used to purposefully break a criminal Attackers bones.

That is why we have special uniforms and special titles for our higher Black Belt ranks.
